Notes from
our picture days.

Short, practical posts from the studio behind the ClassPhoto Suite: how we run picture day, what we print, and what we stopped doing. Written for other school photographers, in the order the questions come up in the Facebook groups.

A folder tree for one school: Teachers, Yearbook with Index.txt, and Office with photos named by student ID
25 September 2026 Send the school its files before anyone asks Teachers want craft photos, the office wants PNGs named by ID, the yearbook wants the PSPA file, and it goes on until March. We make all of it from one GotPhoto export the day after the coupon closes. Read it.
An Avery label sheet for one class with most labels peeled off and three still on it
16 September 2026 The sticker sheet we use instead of QR codes on picture day One name label per child, one class per sheet, peeled as each child is photographed. Whatever is left on the sheet is the absent list, and the name in every file comes from the sticker, not from asking a five-year-old. Read it.

Two posts so far. We write these when the same question comes up in the school photography groups more than once, so if there is something you would like us to write down, ask.
